Westburg introduces the IonFlux Patch Clamp system

Fluxion's IonFlux system provides automated patch clamping for recording from ligand-gated and voltage-gated ion channels. A wide variety of electrophysiology applications are supported, including ion channel drug screening and pharmacology.

With the IonFlux Automated Electrophysiology System Fluxion has addressed the limitations of manual patch clamping, a labor-intensive technique that is too slow to be used for drug screening.

The IonFlux system eliminates the need for intermediate pipetting steps during the recording protocol and allows the system to be configured like a plate reader, simplifying workflow and increasing throughput. The IonFlux system offers:

  • The highest throughput (up to 10,000 data points per day) 
  • Suitable for all ion channels including ligand-gated (compound exchange <50ms) 
  • Very low cost per data point.
