Description

The PCR Mycoplasma Detection Set is a primer set designed to detect mycoplasma contamination in biological materials such as cell cultures. Conventional mycoplasma detection techniques involve culture on selective media, requiring at least a week to obtain results.

With this PCR primer set, detection results are obtained in a few hours. As the presence of contaminant mycoplasma can be easily detected by only verifying the bands of amplified DNA fragments in electrophoresis, there is no need to prepare labeled probes.

The PCR Mycoplasma Detection Set allows detection of 11 species of Mycoplasma (M. fermentans, M. hyorhinis, M. arginini, M. orale, M. salivarium, M. hominis, M. pulmonis, M. arthritidis, M. neurolyticum, M. hyopneumoniae, M. capricolum) and one species Ureaplasma (U. urealyticum) with sufficient sensitivity.

It is recommended to use the set with either TaKaRa Taq (Cat.#R001) or TaKaRa Ex Taq (Cat.#RR001) for best results.
