Description

Marathon-Ready cDNAs are tissue-specific pools of cDNA ready for use in 5'- and 3'-RACE PCR. Each Marathon-Ready cDNA is synthesized from high-quality Premium Poly A+ RNA and ligated to the Marathon Adaptor. Using sets of gene-specific primers 5' and 3' ends can be rapidly amplified from this cDNA pool. After sequencing of the RACE products, a complete full-length cDNA clone can be obtained by end-to-end PCR.

Each Marathon-Ready cDNA is sufficient for 30 reactions. To perform RACE, all you need is your gene specific primers and a polymerase mix for PCR. We recommend Clontech Advantage 2 Polymerase Mix.

With the Marathon Kit you can use your own RNA. Also see our SMART and SuperSMART Kits if you have only small amounts of RNA or want to obtain the maximum size of end sequence.
