The Ready-To-Glow Dual Secreted Reporter System allows ongoing, live cell monitoring from two promoters in one system. It avoids the pitfalls of cell lysis, synchronizes detection, and allows for specific and direct comparison of two promoters of interest.
The first reporter is Clontech's Ready-To-Glow Secreted Luciferase from Metridia longa. The second reporter is a secreted form of human placental alkaline phosphatase (SEAP). Both reporters are secreted into the culture medium, so you can sample repeatedly over time without sacrificing cells.
The dual secreted reporter system allows you to monitor changes in two distinct promoters' activities in a multiplex format. Another application of the dual secreted reporter system is to use one reporter as a control for transfection efficiency, and the other to monitor a promoter of interest.
As these are live cell assays you can bank your samples for subsequent RNA or protein analysis.
