The Clontech Antibody Microarray 500 is a powerful chip-based technology for profiling protein expression in biological samples. The array contains over 500 monoclonal antibodies immobilized onto a glass surface, allowing you to compare the relative abundance of a large numer of proteins in two biological samples in a single, one-day experiment. This type of multiplex protein analysis has, until now, been very difficult to perform using conventional technologies.
The antibody array is designed as a screening tool for correlating proteins with a physiological or pathological process. Antibodies have been carefully selected to cover five major functional categories based on gene ontology: apoptosis, cancer, cell cycle, protein kinases, and neurobiology.
