Description

Retro-X Tet-On and Tet-Off Advanced Inducible Expression Systems combine the efficiency of retroviral gene transfer with the power of state-of-the-art tetracycline-regulated gene expression systems. The retroviral vectors in either system can be used to establish a versatile and inducible gene expression system in a wide variety of primary cell cultures and immortalized cell lines.

The vectors in both systems feature Clontech’s Retro-X Q technology, which 1) drives high titer retrovirus production in packaging cells, 2) inactivates viral LTRs in target cells to prevent promoter interference, and 3) ensures that a high frequency of stable clones express the transactivator.

After establishing a system in your cell line through retroviral infection, the inducer doxycycline controls expression of your gene in a dose-dependent manner, allowing you to precisely modulate its expression levels. Maximum expression levels for the Tet-Advanced Systems are very high, and unlike other inducible mammalian expression systems, regulation is highly specific and uncomplicated by pleiotropic effects and nonspecific induction.
