Inducible Mammalian Expression
Tet System Cell Lines - first generation
Tet-inducible cell lines are designed for use with Clontech’s tetracycline-inducible gene expression systems. These cell lines stably express one of the following transactivators: rtTA (Tet-On) or tTA (Tet-Off).
Create a Tet-Inducible Expression System for your gene of interest by placing it under control of a tetracycline-responsive promoter (e.g. TRE-Tight); transfecting it into one of these Tet cell lines; and selecting for double-stable clones.
Tet-On cell lines induce gene expression in the presence of doxycycline. Tet-Off cell lines induce gene expression in the absence of doxycycline.
Importantly, Tet cell lines can save up to two months time in developing a complete Tet-controlled system expressing your gene of interest.
