Protein phosphorylation analysis
Now you can easily identify changes in the phosphoproteome. It’s possible with the digital ProteomeChip, which fractionates protein or peptide samples by pI with high resolution and reproducibility. Mass spectrometry will then reveal which proteins have undergone a pI shift by phosphorylation or dephosphorylation.
Once you have discovered interesting pI shifts by MS you can even rapidly transfer fractionated proteins to a membrane to assay phosphorylation or confirm your MS data by Western blotting.
