Galactose metabolism kits

  • For quantitative determination of galactose metabolism molecules
  • Fast and sensitive
  • Convenient: just add a working solution and read the absorbance after incubation
  • For samples of food, beverage, agricultural products, and biological
  • Colorimetric assays to determine galactose, lactose or lactulose

Lactose Assay Kit

Lactose, or milk sugar, consists of one molecule of glucose and one molecule of galactose. After separation from glucose, galactose travels to the liver for conversion to glucose, which in turn can be broken down to glucose-6-phosphate in the glycolysis pathway.

The lactose assay uses specific enzyme-coupled reactions in which lactose is cleaved and the resulting galactose forms a colored product. The color intensity at 570nm or fluorescence intensity at 530nm/585nm is directly proportional to the lactose concentration in the sample.

  • Use as little as 20 μL samples.
  • Linear detection range in 96-well plate: 17 to 2000 μM lactose for colorimetric assays and 6 to 100 μM for fluorimetric assays.
  • Results within 30 minutes

Lactulose Assay Kit

Lactulose can be found in milk-based products. Lactulose is double-sugar formed from one molecule of fructose and one molecule of galactose. Commercially, it is produced by isomerization of lactose.

The lactulose assay kit is based on beta-galactosidase catalyzed oxidation of lactulose, which generates D-fructose and D-galactose. The generated D-fructose reacts with the specific reagent to form a colored product whose color intensity, measured at 565 nm, is proportional to the lactulose concentration in the sample.

  • For quantitative determination of lactulose in food, beverage, agricultural products, and biological samples.
  • Use of 40 μL sample.
  • Linear detection range 3 to 300 μM lactulose in high throughput 96-well plate assay.
  • Convenient: “Add-mix-read” type assay.

Galactose assay kit

The galactose assay kit can be used to quantitatively determine galactose concentrations in various types of samples.

  • Use as little as 20 μL samples.
  • Linear detection range in 96-well plate: 10 to 1000 μM galactose for colorimetric assays and 10 to 100 μM for fluorimetric assays.
