HL-1™ from Lonza is a chemically defined, serum-free medium for hybridomas and differentiated cells of lymphoid origin.

It is composed of a modified DMEM/F12 base, HEPES Buffer, known amounts of insulin, transferrin, testosterone, sodium selenite, ethanolamine, a variety of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids and proprietary stabilizing proteins. The total protein level is less than 30 µg protein per ml.

HL1 medium contains no bovine serum albumin or other undefined protein mixtures.
