Takara’s T4 Polynucleotide Kinase catalyzes the transfer of the Y-phosphate of the ATP to the 5’- hydroxyl-terminus of DNA or RNA, or the 5'- phosphoterminus of DNA or RNA. These reactions are reversible. In the presence of ATP, 5’-OH termini are phosphorylated (phosphorylation reaction), and in the presence of ADP, 5’-P termini are dephosphorylated.

T4 Polynucleotide Kinase is supplied in 50 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 50 mM KCl, 1 mM DTT, 0.1 µM ATP and 50% glycerol.
