Calf Intestine Alkaline Phosphatase (CIAP)

Calfs Intestine Alkaline Phosphatase (CIAP) is used for dephosphorylation of 5'-terminal phosphate groups on DNA fragments.

CIAP is capable of degrading almost all phosphate monoesters, but does not degrade diphosphate or triphosphate linkages. The enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of 5’-phosphate termini from RNA, DNA, rNTPs and dNTPs.

CIAP is supplied in a buffer containing 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 8.0), 50 mM KCl, 1 mM MgCl2, 0.1 mM ZnCl2 and 50% glycerol.
