Shorter SaCas9 allows one-construct gene editing
The AAVpro CRISPR/SaCas9 Systems are used for the preparation of an adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector to express the components necessary for CRISPR/SaCas9-mediated genome editing (sgRNA and SaCas9 nuclease) in mammalian cells.
The SaCas9 gene is derived from Staphylococcus aureus and has a similar editing efficacy to the commonly used Streptococcus pyogenes Cas9 (SpCas9) but is about 1 kb shorter. This makes it is possible to fit both SaCas9 and the sgRNA sequences into a single vector for easier and more efficient genome editing in a wide variety of mammalian cells.

The AAVpro CRISPR/SaCas9 Helper Free System (AAV2) (Cat. No. CL 632619) is a complete system, containing reagents to construct custom-designed sgRNA expression plasmids and prepare AAV particles.
