The Library Quantification Kit provides a highly-sensitive, qPCR-based quantification method that targets adapter sequences used for Illumina sequencing reactions. This kit allows specific measurement of the sequencing library concentration even in samples that also contain DNA molecules without adapters.
Why quantitate your NGS library?
Loading the flow cell with the right amount of library DNA is essential to get high-quality Illumina® next-generation sequencing (NGS) data. If you load too little library DNA, you will get low cluster density and lower sequencing yield. If you load too much, data quality may be poor. Through quantitation you can avoid this and get optimal results.
Standard methods of NGS library quantification, by electrophoresis or spectrophotometry, have low sensitivity, are non-specific for adapter-bound DNA, and typically require a large amount of library sample for analysis.
Sensitive library quantification by QPCR
The Library Quantification Kit uses standards and primers that recognize the adapter sequences used for Illumina’s NGS reactions. Sequencing library quantification with this kit is accomplished by qPCR using SYBR® Green for detection.
The kit includes DNA standards of known concentration to allow absolute quantification of library DNA.
