- Ready-to-use TBE Buffer: save time
- Guaranteed DNase/RNase free
- High buffering capacity: no recirculation needed for long runs
TBE Molecular Biology Grade
AccuGENE TBE buffers are prepared with high quality reagents, using ultrapure deionized water of 18 megOhm. Solutions are then filter-sterilized through a 0.45-micron filter.
Advantages and disadvantages of TBE vs TAE in electrophoresis
A key benefit of TBE over TAE is its higher buffering capacity. This allows longer electrophoresis runs without buffer recirculation. In addition, TBE offers the best resolution for fragments smaller than 1500 bp.
Borate is known to be an inhibitor of many enzymatic activities. Therefore, if the separated DNA is to be used in downstream enzymatic reactions, such as cloning or PCR, TAE buffer is recommended instead of TBE.
