TITANIUM Taq DNA Polymerase is an N-terminal deletion mutant of Taq polymerase. This deletion eliminates 5'-exonuclease activity and increases the solubility of the enzyme, making it the most robust and sensitive PCR polymerase available.

TITANIUM Taq includes TaqStart Antibody, which blocks polymerase activity during the PCR reaction set-up, increasing specificity and yield. Because a pre-heating step is not necessary to activate the polymerase the DNA template is protected against damage by depurination, which generally occurs with prolonged heating.

The higher PCR yield, specificity and sensitivity of TITANIUM Taq translate into major advantages over conventional polymerases. First, you can amplify your target using fewer PCR cycles. This lowers the background in your experiments. In situations where the target is present at extremely low levels, such as amplifying a rare cDNA in an RT-PCR experiment, TITANIUM allows you to successfully amplify your target - even when only two molecules are present in the template.
