The Advantage Genomic LA Polymerase Mix enables synthesis of long PCR products up to 30 kb using human genomic DNA templates and up to 48 kb using non-complex templates. The enzyme provides 6.5X higher fidelity than wild-type Taq DNA polymerase and greater product yields, with less optimization than other “long and accurate” (LA) polymerases due to the robust enzyme/buffer system.

Advantage Genomic LA Polymerase Mix also provides increased PCR specificity and reduced background. The mix is composed of a full-length Taq DNA polymerase, a small amount of proofreading enzyme, and a hot start antibody. Nonspecific amplification due to mispriming and/or formation of primer-dimers before thermal cycling is prevented because the antibody inhibits the polymerase activity by binding to the enzyme until the temperature rises.

Advatage GC Genomic LA Polymerase Mix additionally contains Clontech's GC-Melt, an additive that "melts" GC-rich secondary structures. This allows amplification of GC-rich genomic DNA of 20 kb and higher.
