PCR UV hoods use shortwave ultraviolet to control unwanted transfer of nucleic acids. The systems combine UV irradiation and antimicrobial coated stainless steel and aluminum to create double protection against PCR contamination.

This creates an ideal environment for preparing PCR reactions by reducing sample contamination significantly by the built-in 254 nm UV tubes for inactivation of DNA / RNA between experiments. By maintaining a clean work area you avoid repeating experiments and you can be certain about the reliability of your results.

The stainless steel and aluminum surfaces are coated with an antimicrobial material. The resulting easy-to-clean surface suppresses the growth of bacteria, molds and fungi and is stain- and fingerprint-resistant.

Two sizes are available: The cabinet features a smaller work area than the workstation. The hoods have a timer to control the duration of UV decontamination of the chamber.

PCR UV systems have enough room for instruments on the work area and up to four power outlets. You ca place small items on two removable shelves. Overhead white light brightly illuminates the work area.
