RevertAid Reverse Transcriptases possesses an RNA-dependent and DNA-dependent polymerase activity and a RNase H activity specific to RNA in RNA-DNA hybrids. The enzyme is a recombinant version of the wildtype M-MuLV RT and differs by its structure, catalytic properties and in the optimum activity temperature (42°C). It is capable of efficient synthesis of full-length first strand cDNA up to 13 kb.

You can use RevertAid Reverse Transcriptases for a wide variety of applications:
- First strand cDNA synthesis for RT-PCR and real-time RT-PCR
- Synthesis of cDNA for cloning and expression
- Generation of labeled cDNA probes for microarrays
- DNA labeling
- Analysis of RNA by primer extension
If you don't need your enzyme to have RNase H activity to obtain high yields of full-length cDNA from long templates, you can choose the RevertAid H Minus Reverse Transcriptase variant. All other features of the RevertAid Reverse Transcriptase are retained.
To be able to perform RT reactions at increased temperature up to 60°C, you can choose the RevertAid Premium Reverse Transcriptase. This enzyme allows for efficient transcription of RNA regions with a high secondary structure, or to improve specificity using gene-specific primers.

For easy use, complete kits are available that include the RevertAid Reverse Transcriptase:
The RevertAid RT kit contains all of the components needed for the RT reaction, such as enzyme, buffer, dNTPs, random hexamer primers and a RNase Inhibitor.
The RevertAid First Strand cDNA Synthesis Kit contains, in addition to the components of to the regular kit, oligo(dT)18 primers. These primers anneal selectively to the poly(A) tail of mRNA. Random hexamer primers do not require the presence of the poly(A) tail. Therefore, they can be used for transcription of the 5'-end regions of mRNA or cDNA synthesis of RNA species lacking a poly(A) tail (e.g., microRNAs). Gene-specific primers may also be used with this kit. This kit is also available without RNase H.
