Protein A is commonly used for the affinity purification of IgG class antibodies. It binds to immunoglobulins through interaction with the IgG heavy chain and purifies all antibodies of the target class without regard to antigen specificity.

Protein A Agarose is an affinity medium for capturing antibodies from large sample volumes. The products are based on an Agarose matrix with a recombinant Protein A ligand. The recombinant Protein A ligand is expressed in E. coli and is free of components of mammalian origin. The specificity of binding to the Fc region of IgG is similar to that of native Protein A giving a high purification factor in a single step.

Protein A Agarose 50% (v/v) suspension is developed for purification of monoclonal- and polyclonal antibodies using affinity chromatography.

Gravity flow Protein A Agarose columns can be used for purification of monoclonal- and polyclonal antibodies using affinity chromatography.

The Protein A Agarose cartridge can be used for purification of monoclonal- and polyclonal antibodies with HPLC or FPLC. More information on applicability of the protein A agarose cartridges can be found here.
